The infamous Porsche 911 RSA. The Porsche 911 RSA was only available for the 1993 and 1994 model years. Porsche built the 964 chassis 911 RS, a European delivery model, which I believe took a purer development stance by making the car lightweight and increasing performance. Porsche North America wanted a similar design for the US market, and what came out of that brainstorming was the highly sought-after 911 RSA. Porsche drew inspiration from the 1973 911 RS, built specifically for the racing circuit. These early 911 cars have become quite coveted and exceptionally rare. This particular model is one of the first-year production delivered in 1993.
This vehicle came to us after it was purchased out of a long stay in storage. The previous owner had started with well intentioned dreams of bringing this RSA back to its former glory, but as most who attempt such an undertaking, quickly found out that a restoration necessary to bring this 911 RSA back to show quality, was both beyond his/her ability, and as most find out...beyond what they ever expected when budgeting the build.
Convenience Collision, Inc. (CCI) picked up the vehicle from Precision Motorsports Racing (PMR) located in Long Valley, NJ. PMR had already performed most of the mechanical restoration and commissioned CCI to perform all the necessary body restoration, which included a full show-quality respray of the entire vehicle. Like any restoration, as work began, the car started to tell a story about its life. Almost every Porsche at some point has had a panel or two repaired and refinished in an attempt to keep them looking like new, and this one was no different.
We had a blast bringing this 1993 Porsche 911 RSA back to its former glory, repairing all panels, refinishing all satin black trim moldings, followed by a full show-quality respray of the entire vehicle, except the engine bay. This was not necessary as it was in fairly nice shape and just required a little bit of detailing. As you can see by the photos below, everything was addressed with no expense spared. It was a true pleasure being part of this project, and we hope you enjoy the gallery. If you own a 911 and are interested in having a restoration, or maybe you only want it cleaned up, either way, CCI would be honored to assist you in your journey, bringing your beloved Porsche, no matter the matter, back to the way she was intended.
